If you've found your way to this blog post you may well have already been following SJR Photography on Facebook and my Etsy shop.  SJR Photography, my portfolio and links to my shop will now stem from this page-

The Etsy shop is currently unstocked (and some pages on the site are under construction) but over the summer I have not been short of photographic opportunities, especially since purchasing and experimenting with my new camera.  So in true back to school style here is what I did in the summer holidays.

One of the summer highlights was being part of the photography team at the annual Colchester Free Festival, an event run totally by volunteers.  We are currently waiting for the final selection of official festival photos, after which more images will be shared here.

London is one of my favourite places with its iconic architecture and unique atmosphere; we had a weekend away there during the break between the Olympics and the Paralympics, where although we did not visit the stadium, we still had the opportunity to soak up the sights of London in the summer of 2012.

We had our first family holiday in almost three years in early July to Devon, this shot was taken at the bottom of the steep cobbled streets of Clovelly on the North Devon coast.

The summer was not just about visiting different places, but enjoying my home town, Colchester, where occasionally unexpected sights are found.  This phone box has recently been framed by the hoardings of a hotel development.

A day out with the family in Cambridge was another chance to mix fun with the opportunity to capture some images in a beautiful and historic city.

Both of my children's birthdays fall during the summer months so we had two classic kids parties in the sun. My son Jonny's future as a London cab driver is assured.

Many thanks for your comment.
